Puppy Parties
At Hall Veterinary Surgery, we run a puppy preschool course designed for owners and puppies aged from 6-18 weeks. Whether this is your first puppy, or you’re just in need of a refresher, these classes are aimed at starting both of you off on the right foot/paw.
We bring you up to date on all aspects of puppy care including diet, parasite control, desexing, registration and strategies for shaping good behaviour. We teach basic training: "Come", "Sit", "Drop" and walking on lead, using positive food rewards.
Most importantly, the classes provide an important socialization opportunity by introducing puppies to other dogs, people and experiences in a positive way when they are most impressionable. This can help reduce fear that can lead to aggression in susceptible dogs. By starting early to establish your role as leader, we can encourage the development of a healthy, happy, calm and well-mannered pet. It is our hope that you will be rewarded by years of devotion, fun and companionship.
By being a responsible dog owner, we are ensuring that dogs and their reputation as man’s best friend are well protected.
The classes are run on Monday or Tuesday nights for four consecutive weeks from 7.30-8.30 pm. Classes are restricted to 5-6 puppies and their main carers (space limits us to two people per puppy). Bookings are essential and proof of vaccination is required.
In each class you are provided with notes and product samples relevant to the topics discussed.
Please contact a member of our Puppy Party team if you require further information.
If you can imagine the antics six puppies can get up to, you’ll understand what fun these classes can be!
