Grooming Your Cat

Start grooming as soon as you get your kitten. Longhaired cats’ fur will become matted unless groomed regularly. Take care if cutting knots out with scissors as the skin is very thin and easily nicked. Long-haired cats with very matted coats can be sedated for a complete clip. Sometimes even shorthaired cats fail to remove dead hair from their coat, especially elderly cats with reduced mobility from arthritis. A dead hair comb will help here.
