For emergencies After Hours, the Animal Emergency Centre will be open. Their number is 6280 6344.
We wish all of our clients and their pets a safe and happy festive season.
The Animal Emergency Centre has moved!.
The Animal Emergency Centre Canberra, which handles most of the ACT's After Hours Veterinary Emergencies, moved to its permanent home in
15/2 Yallourn St, Fyshwick,
on November 11. This will probably add another five to ten minutes at most to your journey, if you ever need to go there. (It makes the trip about the same as travelling to The Canberra Hospital in Woden).
To get there, travel to Canberra Avenue in Fyshwick by your best route, turn left at OfficeWorks and left again into the service lane that runs parallel to Canberra Avenue. Yallourn St is just towards Civic from Officeworks. Turn right into Yallourn St and the Animal Emergency Centre will be on your right, near the Dominos Pizza.

There is a new phone number of 6280 6344, which will be active, but the old number of 6247 0044 will work for the next six months.
Gorgeous day for Pink Ribbon Fundraiser BBQ and Dog Walk.

We have a separate page with photos from our October 24th Fundraiser.
In short, we raised over $600 for the National Breast Cancer Foundation on the day, and hope to swell the total to $1000 as more donations and sales come in. Come and see some of our photos.
Our Behaviour Information Evening was a great success.

This year we held our annual Information Night at the Trevino Room of Gold Creek Country Club. Our guest speakers were Animal Behaviourist Dr Joanne Righetti, “Animal Santa” Martin Steel, and our very own Geraldine Wickham.
Geraldine’s dog Elbow (bottom left of the photo) was very attentive to Lesa’s introduction.

Jo explained the different types of beaviours of our pets, and how they often originate from perfectly natural behaviours of our pets placed in unnatural situations. And Martin introduced the audience to many different types of doggy toys.

Geraldine spoke about how dog activity classes (ranging from obedience classes and our Puppy Parties to flyball and sledding) really help with keeping your dog happy.
Congratulations Cara and Marty!Hall Veterinary Surgery would like to congratulate Cara on her wedding to Marty today (8th October). Cara - shown here being ‘given away’ by her father - looked radiant in her wedding gown. The wedding and reception were held at the Devine Function Centre, Kamberra. We wish Cara and Marty all the best for their future life together.

Welcome to...Hall Veterinary Surgery are delighted to welcome Gemma Fiddian as our new trainee nurse. Gemma has already thrown herself into our in-house training, and will commence her Cert IV next year. She is currently completing her Bachelor of Arts.
Andrew and Helen both got to the Australian Veterinary Association 2009 Conference in hot and steamy post-wet-season Darwin this May. Helen pursued her much loved surgery and medicine stream whilst Andrew was in the Practice Management streams.
A well-earned break followed, including a visit to Kakadu National Park, a five day walk from Katherine Gorge to Edith Falls, and catching up with Helen’s family in Queensland.
Bon voyage, Claire!Claire, whose cheerful face you would have seen at Reception, is heading overseas!

Congratulations Lesa!
Congratulations to Lesa and Tim on the birth of their third child - a boy, Fraser - on Monday 12th January.
We wish them all the best. Lesa is planning on being on maternity leave until mid-April.Andrew has knocked together a Google ‘mashup’ Maps of the nearby Dog Off Leash and Dog Prohibited Areas (based on the ACT Government’s TAMS maps). These maps are much quicker and easier to use than the TAMS maps, and Google will even give you street views of the areas!
And then there’s 2008’s news.
