And another great night was had by all...It was really nice to be back in Hall Pavilion again.

Even on a cold and wet July night, our Dental Information Evening had over 50 enthusiastic clients come to listen to Dr Christine Hawke of Sydney Pet Dentistry as she enthused about how to brush your pet’s teeth, and Sue Ellis from Hill's Pet Nutrition who informed us about "toothbrush food". |

Million Paws Walk
Helen and Andrew and their new acquisition, Bindi the whippet joined 10,000 other humans and 4,000 dogs walking around central basin of Lake Burley Griffen on a glorious mid-May Sunday to help raise over $100,000 (as reported in the Canberra Times). The start was bedlam, as dogs and owners streamed along the paths around the lake. There was a real buzz of excitement, but nearly all dogs and their owners kept fairly composed, and very few hackles were raised. There were lots of displays, from flyball and agility courses to dog washing and kennel auctions. Andrew and Helen’s little girl was throughly exhausted by the end, and slept all the way home!
Congratulations Elissa!
Elissa has just graduated with her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing through the Western Institute of TAFE, based in Orange.
Welcome to Amy!Hall Veterinary Surgery welcomes Amy Preston-Stanley to our team. Amy joins us as a trainee veterinary nurse.
Phones are back!
Update: 19 Feb. Most of our landlines are back, with temporary wires slung through the trees, waiting for a more permanent fix.
Didn’t it rain...?
The old village phone lines were troubled by the rain over the weekend of February 13/14 (108mm!) and all our land lines are cut.
We are making do with diverting mobile phones - so you can still contact us on 6230 2223, but have only one incoming line until the land lines are repaired. This may take until Friday Feb 19th if we are unlucky.
Thanks for your patience.
If you happen to be in Melbourne on Feb 11...
An Animal Welfare Science Seminar is being held at the South 1 Lecture Theatre at Monash University from
10am-4pm on Thursday 11th February, on
“Building Better Dogs: Using what we’ve learned about genetic and experiential effects to improve dog welfare”
It should be an awesome collection of presentations particularly focussing on dog breeding, with the following titles:
- Paul McGreevy: Breeding for quality of life
- Mike Goddard: Genetics of dog behaviour and breeding programs to improve canine welfare
- Kate Schoeffel: A model for an association of professional pet dog breeders
- Pauleen Bennett: Why behaviour is as important as conformation when selecting breeding dogs
